    2021, before you go....

Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about how we define growth and success and how I want to define these things for Youer in 2022. Traditionally, in business, they’re defined by numbers that trend upward. More revenue, more customers, more teammates, more more more. We’re a culture that’s obsessed with hustling but bigger numbers doesn’t always mean we’re succeeding or growing sustainably.

  • Leggings, you're wearing them wrong!

    Leggings, you're wearing them wrong!

Raise your hand if you wear underwear with your leggings (or skorts or biker shorts, or any other skintight bottom). If you raised your hand, then read on - because ditching your panties is freeing in so many ways beyond the panty line.
  • A History of Print Design

    A History of Print Design

I made my first ever textile print in 2017 because I was looking for fabrics I wasn’t finding. I thought it would be super cool to have fabrics designed just for my brand, but when I priced out commissioning artists to make them I realized I didn’t have the budget. But I did have the desire to teach myself design software on Youtube!
  • "When are you going to make men's clothes?"

"When are you going to make men's clothes?"

This is our most-asked question (tied with “when are Treasure Dresses getting restocked?”). The playful, easy answer? - “depending on your style, we already might!”. The longer complicated answer that’s too long to explain in a DM? - “probably never”

    100% Plastic-Free Packaging

Our packaging is sexy, isn’t it? Plastic-free sustainable packaging is pretty darn cool. Our ‘poly’ bags are not made from poly at all (poly is plastic fyi)– they’re made from veggie starch! Tubers and corn so they’ll decompose in your home compost!

We're launching a CSA next week!

Wanna know how you can get in on the season’s first opportunity to buy a Treasure Dress? Next week, on September 28th, we kick off Youer’s largest project ever - a 30 day fundraising event to Build the Youniverse. AKA our own whimsical clothing factory outside Missoula Montana) for more control over how when and where our products are made. Community is the most important piece of this brand, so we’ll be doing it together. AND a huge portion of it will be funded through the sale of Treasure Dresses.
  • Growing Synthetic Fabric (you read that right!)

Growing Synthetic Fabric (you read that right!)

Nylon, but make it cool: Bio Nylon! A renewable sustainable fabric that has some extreme advantages to its predecessor. Traditionally, nylon is made from plastic created from petroleum. It’s often chosen for high-end athletic wear because of its strength and elasticity (debuting in tights during the 1940s). Enter bio-nylon. A fabric created in a lab from biomass.
  • Is it easier to WASTE fabric than USE it?

Is it easier to WASTE fabric than USE it?

Did you know it’s easier to waste fabric than it is to use it? Yep - if it were easy and affordable to be a sustainable brand, every brand would be. So let us elaborate. At the end of a production season, we’re inevitably left with extra fabric from whatever we make. Why? Because we always overestimate when we order fabric....

5 Tips for Creating a Sustainable Closet

If you’ve ever thought “sustainable fashion is too expensive for me” we’re here to say it’s probably not. You don’t have to rid your closet of every fast fashion item and invest thousands into a new collection of clothes made by small independent designers and makers.
